The answer to that question is simple: A lot!

Even if you are a self-proclaimed DIY expert and you’ve done tons of research, unless you are actually experienced, electrical work is best left to a professional. Why? – Keep on reading to find out five reasons why you should hire a licensed and experienced electrician and contractor for your electrical needs.

Safety

If there were only one reason why you should hire a professional electrician, safety would be it. While electricity certainly makes life more convenient, it can be extremely dangerous. Even if it’s something that seems as simple as installing a new outlet, you could put yourself at risk of a serious injury if you try to do the job yourself. For example, connecting the wrong wires could result in electrocution, or a faulty connection could spark a fire.

Don’t put your safety at risk! Licensed electricians over at Fielack Electric will not only have the necessary experience but will also take every precaution to ensure that the job is completed safely.

Codes

When installing electrical wiring, strict codes must be adhered to. These codes are designed to ensure the safety of anyone who is within close proximity to the wiring, including those who reside in your home, and your neighbors.

Failure to adhere to these codes could result in serious injuries. Furthermore, if you happen to be lucky enough to avoid safety issues, not following electrical codes may detract from the value of your home. For instance, if you were to sell your house in the future and an inspection revealed that your electrical system was not up to code, a potential buyer may offer significantly less than you are asking – if they decide to make an offer at all.

A professional residential electrician will follow all electrical codes of your town, further ensuring the safety of your home.

Knowledge and Experience

No matter how many how-to videos you watch and books you read, nothing can compare to the knowledge that is obtained from formal education. Licensed electricians must complete formal education. In fact, they cannot be licensed unless they have completed the necessary education. Additionally, a professional electrician will have hands-on experience that can be applied to the work that you need to have done.

With a formal education and hands-on experience, a professional electrician will have the knowledge that is necessary to ensure your electrical needs are safely met.

Electrical Contractor Long Island

Even if you consider yourself very good at troubleshooting, you may not be able to find the answers when an electrical problem arises. Because of the advanced knowledge and experience, a qualified electrician has, a professional will be better able to diagnose any issues.

Thanks to their advanced problem-solving skills, a licensed electrician will be able to save you a lot of time and money; not to mention headaches.

Savings

You might assume that you’ll save yourself some money by trying to DIY your electrical work; however, that usually isn’t the case.

If you end up making a mistake or buying the wrong materials, you could end up spending a lot more than you would have if you hired a professional in the first place. By hiring an electrician or a contractor, you’ll not only save money in the long run, but you’ll also save valuable time. Massapequa Park is a village and hamlet located within the town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 17,008 at the 2010 census. Areas south and east of the village borders are considered the hamlet of Massapequa Park because they are under the jurisdiction of the Town of Oyster Bay rather than the village. The hamlet shares the same zip code, fire department and school district as the village.

The village located on the South Shore of Long Island shares the early Native American history of Massapequa. Then, in the 19th century, families of German descent relocated from Brooklyn to what is now Massapequa Park, and the resulting community was known as Wurtenberg or Stadtwurtemburg. The main attraction and center of activity was the Woodcastle Hotel, a rooming house built in 1868 on Front Street next to the fire department as a summer resort. It was destroyed by fire in 1952 and replaced by houses.

In 1928 readers of The New York Times saw ads for Massapequa Park, a development built by a real estate firm owned by Michael J. Brady, Frank Cryan and Peter Colleran. The three Irish-Americans described their project as having a bit of Old Erin and the area between Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road still has its mostly Irish street names.

In 1931, Massapequa Park was incorporated as a village to ensure control of land use and other issues. Several dozen kit houses from Sears Roebuck were built in two different areas of the Village. These include some of the largest model kit houses offered by Sears.
