Every time you flip on a light switch or plug in an appliance, you have your home’s electrical system to thank. However, despite how much you rely on this crucial system, you probably don’t give it much thought. Unfortunately, a lot of homeowners ignore the state of their electrical system, and because of their disregard, they end up paying a hefty price.
Ensuring your electrical wiring is in proper working order is crucial. If you notice any signs that indicate your wiring is on the fritz – frequent breaker trips, hot outlets, and light switches, strange sounds coming from your appliances or outlets, flickering lights, or the smell of burnt plastic, for example – contact a certified electrician over at Fielack Electric.
If you suspect that your electrical wiring has seen better days but you’re questioning whether or not you should upgrade, here are several reasons why upgrading the system is crucial.
While upgrading your electrical system may be an expense you would rather not pay when it comes to ensuring the safety of your home and family, no expense is too great.
If you’re on the fence about the cost, consider the following facts: Each year, fire departments across the country and in Roslyn,NY respond to more than 50,000 electrical fires. These electrical fires are responsible for approximately 500 deaths, an estimated 1,400 injuries, and cause more than $1.3 billion in property damage.
How can you avoid becoming one of these statistics? – By having your electrical system inspected and if necessary, upgraded, by a certified electrician.
In addition to ensuring your safety, upgrading your home’s electrical wiring will allow you to avoid being majorly inconvenienced.
From turning on the lights to powering your electronics, and from storing your perishable foods to preparing them, you rely on your home’s electrical system every single day. When the lights keep flickering and the circuit breaker is constantly tripping, it’s a major inconvenience. By upgrading your wiring, you can avoid being inconvenienced and enjoy the full benefits of electricity.
To Save Money
Though the upfront cost of upgrading your electrical wiring might seem like a major expense, in the long run, you’re actually spending more money if you don’t have it upgraded.
By upgrading, you can have a new, more efficient system installed that will reduce your consumption of electricity. With a more advanced system, you can save a significant amount on your utility bills. Add to that the fact that replacing your old system with a new one can prevent serious and costly damage to your home and the savings can really add up.
Upgrading your home’s electrical system can also increase the resale value of your home. If you ever decide to sell your home, buyers will be more inclined to make an offer for or very close to your asking price. Why? – Because buyers are more likely to pay top dollar for a home that is powered by an electrical system that is not only safe, but that can meet their power needs.
It’s hard to rest easy when your circuit breaker keeps tripping, your lights are constantly flickering, or when you worry about being shocked whenever you plug in an appliance. Moreover, the fear of something really bad happening – like a fire – is always on your mind.
When you upgrade, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that your home is being powered by a new electrical system and that the safety of your family isn’t in jeopardy. When that system is installed by a reliable certified residential electrician, you’ll have even more peace of mind knowing that everything is up to code and that the highest quality materials and most advanced techniques were used.
Roslyn is a village in the Town of North Hempstead in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. It is the Greater Roslyn area’s anchor community. The population was 2,770 at the 2010 census.
Roslyn was initially settled by colonists in the year 1643. Originally, Roslyn was called Hempstead Harbor, but its name was changed to Roslyn in 1844 due to postal confusion regarding all the other “Hempsteads” scattered about Long Island. The name “Roslyn” was selected as the new name, as its location in a valley reminded officials of Roslin, Scotland.
Roslyn was incorporated as a village on January 11, 1932. Its first Mayor was Anton E. Walbridge.
The Ellen E. Ward Memorial Clock Tower in Roslyn was designed by Lamb and Rich, and was completed in 1895. It was sold to the Village of Roslyn by the Town of North Hempstead for $1 for its centennial in 1995.
